The Practice

Jonathan and Elspeth Down purchased Victoria Veterinary Centre in 1991 and took over Thornbrook Veterinary Clinic in 1997.

They both trained at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Jonathan qualified in 1987 and Elspeth in 1989.

After this they worked for the RSPCA at the famous Harnsworth Hospital in London (Rolf Harris fame) and in private practices in London and North Wales.

At Victoria Veterinary Centre our aim is to provide the highest standard of care for all patients and their owners. All our staff take pride in treating every animal as if it were there own. It is important to everyone that our clients trust the work done here and are comfortable with the 'bedside manner' and the services offered.

Jonathan and Elspeth believe that clients (both owners and patients) value seeing familiar faces. Whenever possible, we will arrange that you pet is seen by the same vet to ensure continuity of service. All our veterinary and nursing staff work as a team to maintain the highest standards of care at all times, so there will always be a dedicated person available to provide any treatment your pet may need.
